Racemo India’s First Supercar by Tata TAMO

Tata Motors the gem among Indian companies has made a remarkable presence in the world of Auto Industry in short span of time and also with their plans on future cars that will  focus on green technology like Tata Megapixle that will run 100Km in one Litre, Car that will be driven by compressed air.

Tata Motors is all set ready to make Indians proud again, with their new project Racemo Sports Supercar. It will be India’s first supercar by an Indian Manufacturer. Sports car lover got its first look in 87th Geneva Motor Show. This sports coupe will be the first product by TAMO, a new sub-brand of Tata Motors. Tata is also working on future cars that will  focus on green technology like Tata Megapixle that will run 100Km in one Litre, Car that will be driven by compressed air.

 

Racemo with a stunning exterior looks is a 2-seater sports car with length within the span of 4 meters. The engine in this car is mounted on the rear. The aluminium based engine used in the car, is also Tata’s newly developed Revotron Series, turbocharged with 1.2 liter capacity. Transmission used in it is 6 speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) with 6 speed with paddle shift. Racemo’s peak torque is 210Nm with output power of 186 bhp. As per offcials of Tata technical team, Racemo will achieve 0-100 kmph in just 6 seconds. Body work of car also uses Tata’s Patented MOFlex multi-material sandwich structure, unique in itself, as it provides wide freedom for surface design, part integration with great efficiency.

Racemo is designed by Tata Motor’s Design Studio situated in Turin, Italy. The patented MOFlex mutli material sandwitch structure takes care of crash protection in efficient manner. It is also provided with air bags for driver and passenger keeping in view the new Indian regulations. Racemo is designed keeping in view the Indian road conditions, and is designed with a ground clearance of 165 mm, but it can be adjusted as the suspension used in it has adjustable features. It takes Tata’s design language legacy a step forward using diamond DLO (Day Light Operating), narrow Bi-LED headlamps and other sporty design elements. Racemo is equipped with tubeless front tyres 205/50 R17 and 235/45 R18 radial rear tyres along with an all-round independent double wishbone suspension set up.

Racemo is the first innovative product by TAMO sub-brand of TATA, with their vision of future automotive technology. It is a symbol of transformation of Tata Motors, to change the driving experience of Indian car lovers. It is going to be a part of customer’s personality from the aspects of style, design, drive and technology.

The car will hit the Indian market in 2018. It boasts to have advanced features like navigation, remote monitoring, predictive maintenance over the air updates utilizing cloud based technology from Microsoft. TAMO will introduce more products in future using the suffix-MO in their name. It represent the TAMO brand (Tata Motor) as well as MOFlex technique. TAMO is expected to introduce their next product in Geneva Motor Show 2018.
