While all focus in India is on go green electric cars, what do you think about future of two wheelers? Not to disappoint, the Pune based company Tork Motorcycle has launched India’s first complete electric bike Tork-T6X.
The bike has been claimed to perform equivalent to a 200cc petrol powered motorcycle. T6X has been designed to produce a power of 8BHP, equipped with an automatic transmission system. The top speed of bike is 100 km/hr. The ride comfort has been taken care of using telescopic front forks and rear has been provided with monoshock suspension system. The effective braking comes from brake discs at the front and rear wheels. The interesting feature which has been claimed to be made available in final product is ABS system.
The design of Tork-T6X has got inspiration from rich heritage of racing bike. Once it will be charged completely it boasts to cover about 500 km for single charge. The power storage is possible because of the use of Lithium-ion batteries. The batteries can be charged up to 80 per cent through 15 Amp socket in just 1 hour. This bike is India’s indigenous bike and a good step towards make in India. The only part which is imported is these batteries. The batteries are good enough to go for 1000 charging cycles, the equivalent of these cycles is 1 lakh kilometre in ideal conditions.

The beauty is a cluster of all digital instruments, providing loads of information. The cluster also includes GPS system. A unique feature provided in Tork T6X is Tork Intuitive Response System, nick named as TIROS. This system allows the engineers of company to keep a track of bike for different requirement along with service needs. It is a cloud computing based system, this feature has been provided on Tesla cars. The company will start delivering the bike to the customer by next year. Currently one can book the bike from website of the company without paying any amount. The company is planning to setup 100 charging station per city for the bike before the start of delivery the bike to the customer.
The company is planning to install experience zones in Delhi, Pune and Bangalore to promote their product. While the process of homologation is underway, company will continue to do testing of bike during this period. The company has set a target to sell 10,000 units in first year after the launch.
