Hybrid Carbikes of Future: Solution for Urban Mobility

 
1. Proxima Carbike Hybrid 
Concept supercars and superbikes of future fascinate a lover of technology. What a bridge between supercar and superbike will look like, Proxima the hybrid concept gives a glimpse of it. This concept is generated as a solution for urban mobility. It has been designed by an Italian Designer company, Alvino.
The concept has been equipped two tandem seats, one for driver and one for passenger. Proxima’s thrilling design attracts ones attention due to its aggressive aerodynamic framework and stylish steel frame along with chrome alloys.
This vehicle from front looks a hot road beauty, and from rears a roaring superbike on road. The seats are arranged similar to the bike, but are not exposed to open environment. They are enclosed with stylish cabin, making it capable of providing all weather comfort ride.
The front wheels are positioned apart to make it look like a car, whereas rear wheels are arranged close, changing its looks ideally from car to bike. The unique wheel arrangement seems to offer less manoeuvrability, but proves to have an excellent.
 
2. Peugeot Onyx 3 Wheel Hybrid  
 
Peugeot’s solution for future urban mobility is Onyx hybrid three wheeled car bike. It has been inspired by the Super car Onyx from Peugeot itself. This has 400cc internal combustion engine along with an electric power to generate 45 KW and 58Nm torque. The rear wheel is massive wide with 17 inch span. The motor is placed in the aft wheel, with getting power from lithium ion batteries. The real exciting thing comes when it works on combined mode , with fuel consumption of 2 litres per 100 Km. The hybrid ranges from 30 km- 50 km in Electric mode, and 500 km when shares with combustion engine.
A feature “Clip Box” is provided between handlebars and seat in it, it provides two ride configuration: sport and urban. When clipbox is attached it is sport mode in which rider leans forward just like in superbike. In urban mode clipbox is removed and provides a traditional upright position.

3. Toyota i-Road

It is Toyota’s three wheeled solution for urban transport in future. It is also designed as two seat vehicle. The i-Road blurs the partition line of car and bike. Toyota is developing this vehicle to have a best blend of ease of motorcycle use and ride comfort and stability of a car. It is designed with a width of 870mm and surprisingly thinner by 20mm than the average size of a large motorcycle. Its length is 2530mm; therefore making the rear seat a bit congested thereby making the rear passenger to sit with legs splayed either side of front seat. It weighs around 300 kg, twin 16 inch front wheels of 80mm width. Digital speedometer, hazard light and demister switches are provided along other features on dashboard.
The real amazing innovative feature of i-Road is “Active lean System”. Around the vehicle a number of Yaw sensors are provided.  An actuator that “pushes” down or “Pulls” up two front dampers individually, in reference to cornering attitude and road surface. The active lean system does not let the G force affect drive during cornering. The rear wheel gets turning through fly-by-wire steering. The turning circle is of 3 meters. A 2KW electric motor provided for drive enables it to attain a speed of 45 km/h and cover a range of 50 km. The lithium ion batteries are the power source of motor. Although it is in conceptual stage but still testing of i-Road tells that it can be put on production if gets the clearance from government.
 
4. VentureOne 
 
VentureOne is a 3 wheeled hybrid vehicle. It can achieve a mileage of 100 miles per gallon, pickup 0-60 in 7 seconds. Top speed of it is 100 miles per hour. The hybrid carbike gives amazing sporty performance along with agility of a bike.
 
It is a 3 wheeled fully enclosed vehicle, and is equipped with almost all the safety features a car has, like impact beams, airbag, bumper and engine shield. Its height and length is same as that of Mini Cooper, and driver sits as high as that in BMW 3 series. The enclosing body is 360 degree glass work, providing driver a full road visibility.
 
 
It is designed as rear engine vehicle with reinforced roll cage construction with front and side impact protection. Dynamic Vehicle Control system is patented technology which enables the vehicle to tilt by up to 45° side to side with a rate of 85° per second.

The propulsion system is a hybrid design consisting of a small internal combustion engine connected to a 15-20 KW generator. The drive motor capacity is 50 KW with advanced battery arrangement.
