3 Amazing Marvel of Architecture in China

The Lotus Building

A huge mesmerizing lotus blooming from an artificial lake in Wujin, China is yet another marvel of architect of China. The name of this building is “The Lotus Building” derived from its shape of lotus. It is located at the centre of Wujin district in eastern coastal province of Jiangsu. The design of building was made by an Australian architecture firm studio505 and building was completed in 2013.
 

The building is surrounded by huge “Petal Ribs” made of steel resembling 3 stages of lotus flower, from bud to bloomed open.Visitors to this building enters from the below, the interior space of it with its colourful and bright atmosphere gives a glimpse of cathedral.
This building has been designed as people park to act like a landmark for culture and civilization, symbolizing the commitment and future aspiration of local government. It is spread in 3.5 hectares. This building houses new exhibition halls, meeting rooms, conference centres along with planning bureau office. It is a fusion of public building and park. It is an addition to an existing subterranean municipal facility situated beneath an existing artificial lake.
The different grades of colours are applied to the sides of the ribs of petals, that creates a deep hue at the edge of structure only. The hexagon mosaic tiles of stainless steel, beige and varied white colour laid by hand covers all external and internal surfaces. An incredible 7 meter high suspended chandelier at the top is real master piece of attraction from inside and outside.
The project was designed to create an aesthetic marvel along with a view towards environment sustainability approach of architecture. To minimize the usage of energy about 2500 geothermal piles are driven through the base of artificial lake. The whole lake water and ground beneath it is used to pre cool (during summer) and pre-warm (during winter) the air conditioning system. The system is utilized for both lotus and two story planning building underneath the lake. An evaporative cooling from lake surface drives thermal chimney inside the main flower pod.
An amazing and eye-catching feature of the lotus Building is its night lighting system. The lighting system is designed in such a way the a series of changing natural colour combinations are created for 20 seconds before it transforms to other scene over 10 seconds. It is becoming a real hotspot of visit in Wujin city.
 
The Piano House
In Huainan, China you will be surprised to see a huge Piano House. This amazing Piano House was built in Huainan (Anhui province of China) as a project by students of department of Architecture of Hefeyskogo University of Technology in conjunction with designer of Huainan Fangkai Decoration Project Co.
 
This house is divided into two sections, each representing a musical instrument. One is a transparent Violin and other is semi-transparent piano as a base for violin. It was built for the people having passion for music. The violin section has escalator which leads to piano section. The piano section displays the different plans and development prospects for newly developed area. It has been built to a scale of 50:1. The transparent glass used makes the premises to remain lightened by maximum amount of natural light. At night it lights up with giant neon tools to make the view very scenic. The piano house rests over three legs made of concrete. A roof terrace made beneath the canopy is built shaping like piano’s open top. The building is gaining popularity among the local visitors as a tourist spot.
The building was the project of local government with the objectives to promote tourism to the newly developed area in Huainan, China to promote tourism along with providing a house equipped with facility for music students of nearby college.
 Tea Pot Building, Wuxi, China 
A giant teapot building in WUXI, China will welcome you in the city, famous for manufacturing hub of traditional red clay teapots. The city is situated in eastern Jiangsu province of China and is also known as “land of Fish and Rice”.
 
This giant teapot building is about 38.8 meter high and nearly 50 meters in diameter, and was designed as a sales office by a real estate developer. The main material used in it is aluminium sheets, glazing panels of different size, and stained glass used to make central curvature.
Its round volume can rotate in to different positions. A micro roller coaster, ferris wheel and water park are also the feature of it.  Now local people feel that it can become a landmark for the city and can attract tourism also.
Next time when you visit China don’t forget to visit these amazing piece of architecture not very known to outsiders.
