China’s Car Eater Bus, Future of Transport

China has surprised the world with its technological advancement in 20th century with its innovative products, and now has once again surprised the world with its stunning concept of futuristic bus.
China is facing ever annoying traffic jams on highways. China’s answer to it is latest conceptual Transit Elevated Bus (TEB). It has the capacity to carry passengers ranging from 1200 to 1400.
This TEB is also given the name “Car Eater”, above as it passes above over the other vehicles moving over the road. The amazing innovative and revolutionary TEB was unveiled to the public at China Beijing International High-Tech Expo.
The designers of this TEB are claiming it to be an economical as well as ecofriendly transport medium not only for China but for the world. This futuristic bus gets it drive power from electricity, which is being supported by extra feature of solar energy generation by the panels of roof. The TEB will be having a span of about two traffic lanes. It will move over uniquely designed guide tracks, built on either side of the lane, with an underneath clearance of about 2.1 meters. It seems like a long tunnel, with windows provided on the sides for the driver to look outside. This special tunnel shape allows the vehicles having height less than 7 feet to pass freely underneath it.
Foldable ramps are provided on the sides of bus for boarding and disembarking by the passenger.
It is provided with boom gates, which will get activated to control traffic if necessary.
Shenzhen Huashi Future Parking Equipment, the company behind this concept says that it has function same as that of subway, but construction will cost five times less than subway.

The company is planning to start its trial runs Qinhuangdao City, in north China’s Hebei Province, most probably at the end of year.
